Fayetteville police search for clues in homicide investigation

Fayetteville police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found by passers-by Sunday morning.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found by passers-by Sunday morning.

Police said the man died as "the result of a violent act," and the case is being investigated as a homicide.

The man's body was found about 9:40 a.m. in the 300 block of Ray Avenue. His name was withheld pending notification of family members.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 910-549-7326 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477. Crime Stoppers pays cash for anonymous tips that lead to an arrest in cases.
