Fayetteville police search for clues in fatal shooting

Posted April 13

— Fayetteville police are investigating the death of a man who was shot and left in a roadway Sunday night.

Police said officers went to the intersection of Lamon and Ramsey streets and found the man at about 8 p.m. They believe he was removed from a vehicle and left in the road. He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators think the man, whose name was not immediately released, was shot somewhere else and taken to Lamon Street.

Anyone with information on the case or who may have heard gunshots in the 7 p.m. hour are asked to call detectives at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477, or text 4Tip to Crime Stoppers at 274637. Crime Stoppers pays cash for tips leading to an arrest, and callers may remain confidential.
