Fayetteville police looking for 'North Face bandit'

Investigators on Friday released surveillance videos of a man, dubbed by police as the "North Face bandit," wanted in connection with several robberies in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Investigators on Friday released surveillance videos of a man, dubbed by police as the "North Face bandit," wanted in connection with several robberies in Fayetteville.

In each of the cases, the man, who was approximately 6 feet tall with a slim build, wore a black North Face Jacket, hoodie, khaki pants and a mask.

Investigators say the man, who brandished a handgun, robbed the Marathon Gas Station, at 704 Country Club Drive, at 11:01 p.m. on Nov. 24.

Several days later, on Nov. 28 at 11:19 p.m., he robbed the Short Stop, at 3400 Ramsey St., and less than an hour later, at 12:24 a.m., robbed the Waffle House, at 2319 Gillespie St..

Anyone with information about the man's identity is asked to call the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483- 8477.
