FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police were investigating two reports of gunshots Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities were notified shortly after 2 p.m. about someone firing from a black moving vehicle in the 2100 block of Ramsey Street.

After a short chase, police stopped the suspect vehicle on North Street, but the two people inside the car ran from officers, the Fayetteville Police Department said. One person was arrested.

A short time later, police received a report about shots fired inside a home at 108 Facility Drive about a block away.

While responding, they found a person dead inside from gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as 27-year-old Patrick Donte Lloyd of White Oak.

It’s unclear if the two cases are related, and police could not immediately provide further details.
