Fayetteville police investigate shooting

Fayetteville police said Eric Deshawn Davis, 25, of the 800 block of Ridge Road, was traveling on Shaw Road toward Bragg Boulevard in the area of Alco Circle when he heard several shots fired behind him.

Davies told police that he felt something hit the back of his head and he drove himself to the security gate at Bragg Boulevard and Knox Street to get help.

Davis was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with a non-life threatening wound to the back of his head and a graze wound to his shoulder.
