Fayetteville police investigate discovery of remains

A man searching the field for scrap metal came across the remains and called police.

Investigators are trying to determine if foul play was involved in the unidentified person's death. The remains appear to have been in the field for some time, they said.

The remains will be sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office for identification and to determine the cause of death.
