Fayetteville police investigate church damage, shooting

— Fayetteville police are investigating to determine if two Sunday morning incidents are related.

At about 3 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to reports of several shots being fired in the area of Duke Street near Dairy Drive. No victims or property damage was found but officers located several spent shell casings in the road.

At about 7:55 a.m. Sunday, officers were called to the Lewis Chapel Baptist Church at 5422 Raeford Road after church members found damage to the church.

    Sad when you go to your church and hear that the outside was damaged. I am happy that there were no injuries, but when are these hoodlums going to learn.

    I'm confused. In one case a church was damaged by bullets. While the other is just a shooting on street where there is a church. How are they related.
