Fayetteville police investigate church damage, shooting

Fayetteville police are investigating to determine if two Sunday morning incidents are related.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are investigating to determine if two Sunday morning incidents are related.

At about 3 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to reports of several shots being fired in the area of Duke Street near Dairy Drive. No victims or property damage was found but officers located several spent shell casings in the road.

At about 7:55 a.m. Sunday, officers were called to the Lewis Chapel Baptist Church at 5422 Raeford Road after church members found damage to the church.
