Fayetteville police charge second suspect in October homicide

Fayetteville police charged 31-year-old Brenton Victor Nottingham, of the 5400 block of Wichita Drive, with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony conspiracy in connection with the fatal shooting of Karlos Bembury on Oct. 16.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police charged 31-year-old Brenton Victor Nottingham, of the 5400 block of Wichita Drive, with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and felony conspiracy in connection with the fatal shooting of Karlos Bembury on Oct. 16.

Nottingham was arrested late Tuesday night and was processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center, where he remains without bond.

34-year-old Keyelle Luavee Hassell of the 5400 block of Wichita Drive was first arrested for the homicide. He has been charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, felonious conspiracy, possession with the intent to sell and deliver cocaine and marijuana.
