FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A fire destroyed a Pizza Hut restaurant in Fayetteville around midnight Tuesday, fire officials said.

An alarm in the restaurant at 3510 Bragg Blvd. went off at 12:14, alerting firefighters to the blaze, fire officials said. No one was hurt, but the restaurant burned to the ground.

Fire officials said that employees closing the restaurant around midnight smelled smoke but didn't investigate it.

Investigators were working Wednesday to figure out what started the fire.
