Fayetteville pedestrian struck by vehicle

A 58-year-old man was in critical condition Tuesday after being struck by a car in front of a Fairfield Inn on Monday night.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 58-year-old man was in critical condition Tuesday after being struck by a car in front of a Fairfield Inn on Monday night.

Emergency crews took Nick Vigil to Cape Fear Valley Hospital after he was hit by a car around 6:15 p.m. at 1630 Cedar Creek Road, according to Fayetteville police. He was later transferred to UNC Hospitals.

The driver, who was not injured, stayed at the scene after the crash, police said. Authorities did not file charges against the driver.
