Fayetteville party guest charged with stealing from host

Posted June 1, 2011

— Cumberland County investigators arrested a Fayetteville man Tuesday on charges that he violated the No. 1 rule of party etiquette: Don't steal from the host.

Jason Wargny, 20, of 4033 Lemuel Farm Road, was charged with larceny of a firearm and possession of stolen goods. He was released from the Cumberland County Detention Center on a $2,000 bond.

Authorities said Wargny was invited to a gathering at a home on the 2300 block of Grant Road on Tuesday. At some point during the evening, he allegedly filled two bags with items from the house, including three firearms, video games, jewelry and a water cooler jug filled with coins, authorities said.

timflowers, thank you!!! I couldn't have said it better. This country has been filled with people of different cultures from the time it was founded, but we have ignorant people like the one you are referring to that think we are just white, black and red. If a white person had done the same crime the person that made the comment that you are referring to would not have commented at all.

OMG, what an ignorant and racist statement: "He looks like he could be a foreigner to me". Why does he look foreign? Because he isn't white or black? Learn your American history: we're a nation of immigrants, not a 'by invitation-only' country club for whites.

Are you sure that's his real name??? He looks like he could be a foreigner to me. Did he have a prior criminal record? Bond sounds pretty low, but $500. higher than an illegal in Carteret County was charged for a felony Bigamy charge...Wonder if law enforcement checked him through the system? Bet he doesn't get invited back there.

Do y'all realize how big a water cooler jug is? Imagine that "filled" with coins. That had to be pretty heavy and bulky to just "walk out" with. Hummmm, wonder what the REAL deal is?

I can not believe that this is still a hot story and the 3 "murdered" Green Berets story was pulled.

Party of etiquette? Know WHO you are inviting into your home in the first place. That would be the common sense. How well do you know the person that you are inviting into your home?

When I was a child the shotguns & rifles stood in the corner of the bedroom. We knew if we touched we would get touched (and I don't mean lightly either).
