— U.S. marshals on Thursday arrested a suspect in slaying of a Fayetteville man last October.

Kenneth Michael Burch, 21, faces charges of first-degree murder and shooting into an occupied dwelling in the death of Ernest Demetrus Rogers, 36.

Police said that someone fired shots into a house along Old Shaw Road on Oct. 21, 2010, and a bullet struck Rogers in the head. Authorities have not disclosed a motive in the case.

Burch was placed in the Cumberland County Detention Center. Information on his bond was not available.

Burch was convicted of conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in 2009 and served two months in jail, according to state Department of Correction records. He also has a misdemeanor drug conviction from 2008.

When are we gonna take our country back from all these revolving door criminals. I will be willing to pay 2 cent sales tax to build more prisons. The problem with the prisons is the inmates have to many rights, and the victims get the shaft.

"Burch was convicted of conspiracy to commit assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury in 2009"

ONLY TWO MONTHS........We must arm ourselves and begin to take the law into our own hands. The good LEO's go out, do their job, put their lives on the line against the such of this man, and liberal lawmakers, attorneys, and judges shame the good citizens by giving someone two months for this...shame on us for allowing it.

So another example of the legal system failing at the expense of Mr. Rodgers and his family. I would expect the judge(s) that sentenced him (or not) to immediately resign in shame. A career criminal left on the streets....again.

So, if you try and kill someone, or your criminal behavior could result in a death, it's not that big a deal as long as the victim is lucky enough to survive? RIDICULOUS! This guy was just a murderer with poor skills. Ask the family members of the dead victim now, what they think of him only getting 2 months for his previous "intent to kill" conviction. The lawmakers and lawyers that allowed him to be on the streets should be serving jail time. Plug this murderer into a high voltage source so society can be rid of him.
