FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The operations manager of a Federal Express facility in Fayetteville has been charged with stealing packages and trying to resell the merchandise they contain, authorities said Monday.

Kimberly Devore, 44, of 2928 Frontera Place in Fayetteville, was charged with embezzlement and possession of stolen property. She was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

Investigators said that several FedEx packages routed through the Fayetteville facility on Dec. 14 were never delivered. Two of the packages contained iPad Mini tablet computers.

That same day, iPad Minis were sold through an online store owned and operated by Devore, authorities said. She has denied any involvement in the alleged crime.
