Fayetteville man wanted on rape charges

Fayetteville police are looking for a man in connection with a sexual assault that happened Sunday morning.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are looking for a man in connection with a sexual assault that happened Sunday morning.

Weldon Jay Davis, 33, whose last known address is 2240 Yale St. in Fayetteville, is wanted on charges of second-degree rape, first-degree kidnapping, assault by strangulation, assault in the presence of a minor, assault on a female, communication of threats and two counts of second-degree sexual offense.

Authorities did not release further details about the crimes, other than to say that detectives are actively investigating.
