Fayetteville man wanted for assault on woman, disabled person

Cumberland County sheriff's deputies are searching for a man wanted in the assault of a woman and a disabled person.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man wanted in the assault of a woman and a disabled person.

Investigators said Dustin Ernest McPhaul, 25, of the 200 block of East Hudson Street in Fayetteville, is also wanted for questioning in an Aug. 8 assault. Investigators said McPhaul was armed with a handgun when he punched a woman in the face and body as she held her infant.

Deputies did not provide details about the other alleged assaults.
