— Police were searching Tuesday afternoon for a Fayetteville man accused of kicking in his ex-girlfriend's door and then punching, kicking and trying to strangle her.

Joseph Michael Woods, 27, faces attempted first-degree murder, felony strangulation and breaking and entering charges.

Officers responding to a report of assault on a female found the victim in home in the 5100 block of Arizona Court shortly after 7 a.m. She was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, but her condition was not released.

Police used a K-9 track to search for Woods but were unsuccessful.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.

He'll brag about the assault to his friends while they sip forties. One of them will get busted and offer him up for leniency. Give it a week or two. If the Fayetteville police department just goes and finds him they will be racists and accused of profiling. Maybe they should just stop policing high crime areas and see how long it takes for the freeze on searches to cease.

Hope they don't try to search his vehicle, that might upset their city's one-term city council members. :(........

He'll be easy enough to find.
