Fayetteville man sought in at least 12 home break-ins

Fayetteville, N.C. — Cumberland County sheriff’s detectives are searching for a Fayetteville man wanted in connection with at least a dozen home break-ins.
Investigators say Gary Wayne Ammons Jr., 37, whose last known address was 2511 Nobie St., is believed to be armed and dangerous.
He allegedly kicked in the front doors of homes along Crystal Springs Road during the past two weeks and stole electronics, firearms and pool sticks, to name a few, according to sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Tanna.
Ammons has a distinctive scar along the left side of his face and jawline. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 205 pounds. He has several tattoos, including “Jacob” on his upper right arm and “Sherri” on his right hand.
He is known to frequent the Crystal Springs Mobile Home Park. Anyone with information concerning his whereabouts is urged to contact the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office at 910-323-1500.
