— A Fayetteville man will spend almost 15 years in prison for use and possession of child pornography, U.S. Attorney George E.B. Holding said Wednesday.

Laurence David Clifton, 43, pleaded guilty in September after a search of his computer revealed images and videos of pre-pubescent children engaging in sado-masochistic conduct.

Judge Louise W. Flanagan ordered that Clifton pay $20,000 restitution and submit to a lifetime of supervision after his prison term.

Clifton was identified in a nationwide undercover operation searching peer-to-peer networks for child pornography, part of the Project Safe Childhood initiative.

i guess he's not as "hooked up" as the fellow who just got 6 years for essentially the same charge.

how hard would it be to police the internet and simply block these mostly eastern european websites? some censorship can be a good thing. this stuff can't possibly fall under the freedom of speech law. a multi billion dollar industry, right under everyone's nose! we go after the consumer (as we should), but seemingly not the providers of this filth. sort of like punishing the drug user, not the dealer.

Why do not we know more about this man?
He is a perverted criminal and just releasing his name
and not what he did in employment or where he comes from to embarrass him further ,is almost being nice to him and kinda
    just makes him invisable.

How many kids' lives have been seriously damaged if not destroyed by this sick perversion! These are not just images! They are real human beings who have been violated at far too early an age. I really think 15 years might be a little light sentence wise.
