Fayetteville police have suspect in Saturday shooting

Fayetteville police are looking for Kevin Maurice Bruton in connection to a shooting early Saturday in the 800 block of Bedrock Drive.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are looking for Kevin Maurice Bruton in connection to a shooting early Saturday in the 800 block of Bedrock Drive.

On Tuesday, police charged Bruton, 29, of the 800 block of Maverick Court, with attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy. They claim Bruton and a second person were trying to rob Christopher Ramon Alexander and shot him in the process.

Alexander was being treated at UNC Chapel Hill Medical Center where he was expected to make a full recovery.
