Fayetteville man killed in domestic dispute

Fayetteville police said a man was stabbed to death early Wednesday during a domestic dispute.

Officers were called to a home in the 3800 block of East Shepherd Street at about 1 a.m. and found Delton Ray Jones, 59, with stab wounds. He was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he died.

Police said Jones and Cynthia Donovan, 53, were involved in a domestic dispute that ended with Donovan fatally stabbing Jones. Donovan was charged with second-degree murder.

Donovan was being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.
