A man loading a boat into his truck outside a Fayetteville home was struck by a car around 10 a.m. Saturday, police said.

The man was struck from behind at 7110 Calamar Drive and pinned underneath his truck and the car. Rescuers worked for nearly an hour to extricate him. Police said he suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The car driver was treated for minor injuries at Womack Army Medical Center. Their names have not been released.

Fayetteville police were investigating the incident.

The poor man was struck from behind and critically injured and I didn't read anything about charges, I wonder why?

There has to be a lot more to this story than what I just read.
