FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County investigators on Friday arrested a Fayetteville man on charges that he behaved inappropriately with a 13-year-old boy.

Malcolm McDonald, 55, of 728 Amber Drive, was charged with one count of first-degree statutory sex offense and four counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor.

The boy told investigators that McDonald would come to the home he shared with a relative and would volunteer to do various clean-up and repair jobs around the property. When the relative would leave to go to work, the boy told investigators, McDonald would force him to engage in inappropriate behavior.

McDonald was being held Friday in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $75,000 secured bond. He was scheduled to make his first court appearance on Monday.
