Fayetteville man charged with sex crimes in Moore County

Moore County deputies on Wednesday arrested a Fayetteville man in connection with the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl.

MOORE COUNTY, N.C. — Moore County deputies on Wednesday arrested a Fayetteville man in connection with the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl. 

Andrew Edward White, of 5731 Randleman St., faces several charges, including felony indecent liberties with a child, misdemeanor sexual battery, misdemeanor assault on a child under 12 and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor. 

According to Moore County authorities, the girl told investigators in Scotland County that she was assaulted by White after running away from her home. 

White was charged with similar offenses by the Fayetteville Police Department in 2004, authorities said. 

He was in the Moore County jail Thursday under a $125,000 bond and is scheduled to make his first court appearance March 13.
