Fayetteville man charged with sex crimes in Moore County

Posted February 21, 2013

— Moore County deputies on Wednesday arrested a Fayetteville man in connection with the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl.

Andrew Edward White, of 5731 Randleman St., faces several charges, including felony indecent liberties with a child, misdemeanor sexual battery, misdemeanor assault on a child under 12 and misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

According to Moore County authorities, the girl told investigators in Scotland County that she was assaulted by White after running away from her home.

White was charged with similar offenses by the Fayetteville Police Department in 2004, authorities said.

He was in the Moore County jail Thursday under a $125,000 bond and is scheduled to make his first court appearance March 13.

"White was charged with similar offenses by the Fayetteville Police Department in 2004, authorities said."

Would be good to know if he was convicted of the charges in 2004. Regardless, this person needs to be in prison for a long, long time if convicted.

@ djofraleigh.... No one will listen... No one in charge that cares either way,, no one that really understands but you and me.

Another example of how punishment alone doesn't work on pedophiles. We must find a way to screen/control before offending, then treat while in jail, and finally track & treat after release.
