FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County authorities arrested a 22-year-old Fayetteville man and charged him with kidnapping and assaulting his wife on Sunday.

Jimmy Lee Proffitt II, of 1282 Tricia Drive, pointed a gun at his wife, forcibly removed her from their home and threatened to kill her following an argument, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.
