Fayetteville man charged with first-degree rape and kidnapping
A Fayetteville man was arrested and charged with first-degree kidnapping Thursday night in reference to a sexual assault that occurred on Oct. 20 near Person Street and Eastern Boulevard, authorities said.

Officials said Boyd Douglas Marsh, 50, forced a female victim into a wooded area and sexually assaulted her.
Fayetteville Police obtained additional warrants on Friday and charged Marsh with first-degree rape in addition to his previous kidnapping charge.
Marsh's previous bond of $75,000 was increased to $500,000 secured for first-degree kidnapping, and his bond on the first-degree rape charge was set at $1 million secured. He is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Facility.
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing. No further information has been released.
