FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man who allegedly kept Fayetteville police busy for several hours Friday night and early Saturday faces charges.

Brian Lovik, 36, is charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and resisting, delaying and obstructing a police officer.

Police went to a residence at 831 McPherson Ave. around 11 p.m. Friday after learning a man and a 15-year-old girl were inside.

When they were unable to make contact with them and receiving reports that there were weapons possibly inside the house, they called the police department's emergency response team to the scene.

Lovik and the teen left the house willingly around 1 a.m. No one was injured.

Police were still investigating Saturday morning, but they said they believe it began as a party with underage drinkers.

Investigators found no weapons in the house, police said.

Lovick was being held in the Cumberland County jail Saturday morning.
