Fayetteville man charged in two shootings

Norman Vincent Brown, of the 52000 block of Cisco Court, is charged with two counts each of attempted first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, according to Fayetteville police. When Brown was arrested Sunday, he was wanted on a charge of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Investigators said Tyquan Herndon, 24, was walking on Wheeling Street about 9:30 p.m. Saturday when a vehicle pulled up. Brown got out and starting talking to Herndon, then shot him, police said.

Less than three hours later, police went to the Kangaroo convenience store on Pamalee Drive and found Xavier Johnson, 25, who had been shot while sitting in a car at the gas pump.

Officers later found a suspect vehicle parked in front of a dwelling on Grand Prix Drive in the Bonnie Doone subdivision and found Norman Brown inside along with another man, Nathaniel Williams, 30.

Williams was charged with accessory after the fact in connection with Johnson’s shooting.

Herndon was in fair condition at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Johnson was in serious condition at the same hospital.
