Fayetteville man arrested for burglary

A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a 2003 burglary on Christmas Eve.

ROANOKE RAPIDS, N.C. — A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a 2003 burglary on Christmas Eve.

Preston Jamil Jackson, of Fayetteville, is charged with second degree burglary, larceny after breaking and entering, larceny of a fire arm and felony conspiracy.

Jackson was being held Wednesday at Halifax County Jail under a $2,500 bond. His next court date is June 11.

Police said the burglary occurred on Dec. 24, 20003 at a home on Thelma Road in Roanoke Rapids. An investigation showed that while residents were away, the home was broken into.

Authorities said recent evidence led to the filing of charges.
