Fayetteville Man Acquitted in 2003 Slaying
A Fayetteville man was acquitted Wednesday in the April 2003 slaying of a local blues musician.

Charles Triplin had maintained his innocence in the death of Shelly Wooten Jr., 78, who was found bound in duct tape and wrapped in a sheet in his Lincoln Drive home on April 8, 2003. Investigators said robbery was the motive in his death.
The decorated Korean War veteran was known for his love of music.
Travis Lamar Cole and Alphonso Terry pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the case and testified against Triplin.
