Looks like Golo Mods are not accepting my comments? I'll post again. In NC the legal age is 16. In GA, it's 18. So, you're expecting me to believe that humans develop less quickly in GA? What a joke! Anyone who can't see the idiocy in legislating morality is a fool themselves. Whether you believe in creation or evolution, puberty makes us sexually mature, and that makes people younger than 16 or 18 able to act on sexual desires. Whether you think it's right or wrong, and regardless of what your elected officials put on the books, you're not going to stop someone "underage" from oftentimes being the instigator of such activity. Burden totally on the adult, younger person totally absolved of any responsibility. Funny, since our state laws will considered someone an "adult" if they steal money from their parents.

Nevermind, I didn't realize we'd moved on to old news about LT. And again, apples to oranges!!!

You're going to tell me a man born in 1959, accused of having sex with a 16 year old in 2010 is justification of a sexual relationship with a child? Really? He was 51. He was absolutely responsible. Does that make it ok? That she was allegedly a prostitute, does that make it ok? No. He's an adult and he's responsible for his actions. The adult has to say NO.

Lawrence Taylor is a good example of what is wrong sometimes with the how the system works, girl comes to your house for the express purpose of engaging in sex , lies about her age and you get in all the trouble and she walks and probably gets to sue; there is not much difference between a 20 yo guy and a 15 yo girl; really not; where are the parents? who holds the girl accountable ? seems like the burden is shifted all one way

Wrong is wrong. I'm reading a lost of posts from "people" who obviously think it's ok to have a sexual relationship with a child as long as that child looks appropriate to them. A child is a child, no matter what they look like. They have the mind of a child. The have the decision making ability of a child. That is part of what differentiates children from adults. Adults are held responsible for their actions becuase of the mental maturity difference. Having sex with a child, ANY CHILD, is WRONG and the adult should be punished.

While all the information is not presented, base on the charges this more serious than some of the posting here appear to believe. 20 to 22 years olds should not be seeing 14 to 16 year old; no matter what the sex of the individuals are. I feel this mainly because the life piroities of the two age group is not the same.

I agree with tar97heel. We have to many young men being accused of "rape" when it involves a 14 or 15 year old girl who is seeing a 20-22 year old guy. The girls have no cupability in it as far as the law is concerned and that is wrong. These articles should list the age of the "victim". By the way glass half full, they most often do not give any age or sex of the "child", so your theory may or may not be correct. And this could be a teenage boy older boy relationship. I am not sure there should be a problem with age 14 to 21 relationships, because this is the age range for our highschools now. Why is it ok for these kids to be in school together in that setting and be treated like a criminal if you are a male student dating a female student. Lastly, teenage girls are not as innocent as they might have been in past generations. They are actively pursuing older guys.

Being that it wasn't stated chances are pretty good it was a male-male crime. Does that make you feel any differently?

"I'd encourage holding off until the age of the "child" is known before we then proceed with hyperbole about vigilante justice. I've given up hope that people will hold off on such bold online declarations completely, but still find it reasonable to pause before doing so.

If this "child" is a developed teen, it's different than if he did something to a 5-year-old. Still illegal, but the severity is different.

It seems like we hear about more and more of these creeps hurting children. We should start branding these guys on the forehead once convicted so parents can easily tell who to keep their kids away from. It might also be a deterrent.
