Fayetteville man accused of raping girl, fathering her children

Cumberland County sheriff’s detectives have charged a 38-year-old man with raping a 15-year-old girl.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Cumberland County sheriff’s detectives have charged a 38-year-old man with raping a 15-year-old girl.

The girl told authorities that Warren Edwards, of 3104 Aglow Drive, fathered her two children. The relationship reportedly began in 2007, detectives said. 

Authorities charged Edwards with three counts of statutory rape of a minor and three counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor.

He was being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $225,000 secured bond. A first court appearance was scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday in the Detention Center Courtroom.
