— Zillow.com, a Web site that tracks property values, put Fayetteville in the No. 1 spot for appreciating home values.

In a survey released Tuesday, Zillow found Fayetteville's median home value jumped 13.4 percent since the second quarter of 2008. Nationally, home values fell about 12 percent over the past year.

Another North Carolina community, Burlington, placed fourth on the list.

Fayetteville's population recently increased with the annexation of Fort Bragg. With other military personnel moving to the area its no surprise.
