Fayetteville home values rise quickly

— Zillow.com, a Web site that tracks property values, put Fayetteville in the No. 1 spot for appreciating home values.

In a survey released Tuesday, Zillow found Fayetteville's median home value jumped 13.4 percent since the second quarter of 2008. Nationally, home values fell about 12 percent over the past year.

Another North Carolina community, Burlington, placed fourth on the list.

    More value a house the more they tax it,

    Did the actual value of my home go up? Or the greedy citys tax assessment. I vote for the latter.

    Fayetteville's population recently increased with the annexation of Fort Bragg. With other military personnel moving to the area its no surprise.

    Is this one of those houses went down 50% in 2007 then jumped up 12% in 2008 deals, much like my 401K?
