Fayetteville hit and run victim dies

— A man struck by a vehicle while walking on Wednesday has died, police said.

Jerry Williams, 59, was struck by a vehicle while walking on North Street near Brinkley Drive at about 11:36 p.m. Wednesday. The driver fled the scene, leaving Williams in critical condition.

Williams passed away on Thursday from his injuries.

    yes, well, it seems there were no witnesses which is why this driver took off. amazing how they caught later - some of them.
    these drivers take off because they do not want to go to jail, lose their job and families and assets they worked hard to earn. just saying

    When we have better and quicker access to real-time satellite imaging and are able to record & store events for day or two, lots of crimes like this will be reduced, I bet.

    For instance, they could pull the satellite video from that location and time and track the vehicle all they way home.

    Until then, we need to keep working hard to find these people who are, IMO, just lower than low.
