Fayetteville, N.C. — The Fayetteville Dogwood Festival, a three-day celebration of live music, dance performances, art and more, is this weekend in the city's historic downtown area.
There are dozens of events and performances, and you can look at the full schedule online.
Here are some highlights not to be missed:
- Battle of the Badges (Saturday, 1-4 p.m. at Festival Park): The Fayetteville police and fire departments will face off in a number of challenges, including doughnut eating, ladder climbing and a tug-of-war.
- Classic Car Show (Sunday, 1-6 p.m.): Antique, restored and custom-made cars and trucks on display. Vote for your favorite!
- Molly Hatchet (Saturday, 9 p.m., Bud Light Stage): The southern rock band will perform live. Their opening act is Blackfoot.
In addition to Molly Hatchet, Joe Diffie will perform on Friday and a collection of artists, including B. Smyth, Kayla Brianna and Ricco Burinno, will take the stage on Sunday afternoon.
You can also visit your favorite WRAL-TV personalities at the Dogwood Festival on Saturday. Mike Maze and Jackie Hyland will be at the WRAL booth from 12-3 p.m., and Greg Fishel and Bryan Mims will be there from 3-6 p.m. Come say hello!
