Fayetteville crash kills one

One person was killed and a second was injured Wednesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Fayetteville, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — One man was killed and a woman was injured Wednesday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Fayetteville, police said.

The vehicle was eastbound on Fillyaw Road at about 3 p.m. when it went off the road near Dandridge Drive, hit a utility pole and overturned, police said.

The driver, identified as Kevon Cameron, 20, of Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., was killed. Passenger Panna Hussain, 19, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash wasn't related to winter weather, police said.
