— A local couple has been arrested on charges they physically abused a 2-year-old boy, authorities said Friday.

Kyle Cremisio, 21, and Brittney Cremisio, 20, both of 713 Roundtree Drive, were each charged with felony child abuse. They were being held Friday in the Cumberland County Detention Center on $5,000 secured bonds.

Police officers went to Womack Army Medical Center on April 15 to investigate a report of a child with several bruises on his body, mainly on his face. A babysitter hired by the boy's parents for the evening took him to the hospital because she was concerned for his well-being after seeing the bruises, police said.

The investigation determined the parents were responsible for the injuries to the child. The boy is the biological son of Brittney Cremisio and the stepson of Kyle Cremisio, police said.

The Department of Social Services took custody of the 2-year-old last week, police said.

Let's hope WHEN they are found guilty, that they both receive sterilization as the punishment.

Oh, and of course, removal of the child from their custody permanently.

Returning the child should not even be considered!

Whether either or both or neither are guilty of child abuse, points to the babysitter for seeking help for the child. Many people would not take this step, and try to play amateur detective or "keep it in the family."

Few parents nowadays know anything about child development which puts every young baby and child at risk.

Don't engage in hyperpole! My church is full of young couples with young children and they know how to raise children. From your posting history, I would bet you want the Nanny State to raise them.

The couple should be punished to the full extent of the law and lose custody of the child.

Praying this child never sees these parents again.

    God bless.
