Fayetteville city bus involved in wreck

Two people were pinned after their van collided with a Fayetteville city bus Wednesday morning.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Two people were pinned after their van collided with a Fayetteville city bus Wednesday morning.

The van ran into the rear of the bus, which was stopped on Sycamore Dairy Road near Bragg Boulevard, around 8:20 a.m., police said.

Van driver Jose Veneges-Ortiz, 22, was cited for failure to reduce speed, police said.

Veneges-Ortiz, his three paseengers and the eight passengers on the bus were taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The bus driver, Toney Paschall, 50, was uninjured.
