— Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department are searching for three suspects in connection with a reported kidnapping and sexual assault that happened Wednesday.

According to investigators, a female victim was walking on Longhorn Drive, near Westover High School, when a car pulled up beside her. Three black men got out of the car and forced her inside with handguns.

She was then blindfolded and forced into the backset before being driven to an abandoned home in Godwin, where she was sexually assaulted, police said.

Investigators said she was able to run away to a neighbor’s house to call for help.

Officials say the men may have been driving a small dark blue or black car with squeaky brakes. The car could possibly be a Toyota Camry or a Nissan.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Detective R. DeShields at 910-580-3016 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477.
