FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man wanted for attempted murder in Fayetteville was arrested in Walker County, Texas, last Thursday, police announced.

Travion Dominique McQuirter, 20, was also wanted on charges of robbery with a dangerous weapon, assault with intent to kill and conspiracy.

McQuirter has more than a dozen previous convictions, including felony breaking and entering, larceny and three counts of simple assault, according to state Department of Correction records. He was released from prison in January after serving a little more than a year.

Fayetteville police had put an alert out for McQuirter through their new initiative called FPD Bluelight Special to capture repeat offenders wanted for various crimes.

To date, the police department says, every suspect featured in the program has been captured within two weeks. The fastest capture happened less than 24 hours after an alert was sent out.
