1 killed in Durham accident
One person was killed Tuesday afternoon in a traffic accident on Hillsborough Road between LaSalle Street and U.S. Highway 15/501.

DURHAM, N.C. — One person was killed Tuesday afternoon in a traffic accident on Hillsborough Road between LaSalle Street and U.S. Highway 15/501.
According to police, the accident occurred just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when a Toyota Camry driven by Michael William Vandall, 59, of Henderson rear-ended the back of a pick-up truck that was stopped at a red light.
Vandall was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck, Gavin Mazurak, 39, of Raleigh was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
All lanes of traffic on Hillsborough road were closed for about three hours.
