Delightful weekend follows storms
Wind whipped the Triangle most of the morning Friday, the portent of a band of fast-moving thunderstorms and a cold front that will bring more stable weather for the weekend.

The National Weather Service confirmed that three tornadoes touched down across central North Carolina. Two in Robeson County - one near Pembroke and the other in St. Pauls, and a third in Wayne County.
"The front moved off shore Friday night and some cooler air is on the way for Saturday," WRAL Meteorologist Mike Maze said. "It will not be all that cold, but it will be cooler on Saturday morning than it was on Friday morning."
Saturday dawns partly sunny and cool at about 40 degrees. During the afternoon hours, temperatures will top out in the mid-60s.
"If you have plans this weekend that require dry, nice weather, this is your weekend," Maze said.
Saturday will boast mostly clear skies in the afternoon hours, but Sunday will be the warmer of the two days in Raleigh. South-central North Carolina could see highs reach the high 60s on Sunday afternoon with the possibility for a thunderstorm.
It cools back down for the work week, but there is no more severe weather in the seven-day forecast, Maz said. Much of the week will see highs in the 50s, lows in the 30s and partly cloudy skies.
Monday ill not be as warm with highs in the 50s. Tuesday will be even cooler with highs in the low 50s and a slight risk of some rain by the evening hours.
Wednesday will be chilly with highs in the upper 40s with a chance of rain and snow flurries.
