Strawberry season is always a moving target each year, based a lot on the weather. But it looks like the majority of strawberry farms in the region will be open for business starting over the next couple of weeks.

Our strawberry farm database has the details on nearly 90 pick-your-own or already-picked operations across this part of North Carolina.
And a heads up to all of the families planning on heading out for a day of strawberry picking: The N.C. Strawberry Council is looking for some adorable pictures of strawberries and kids on the farm for a photo contest. The top three winners will get cash prizes. It's open to the general public. The council's website has more information.
