Farmers Market season starts this weekend

Spring is here and so is the farmers market season.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Spring is here, and that means farmers' markets are opening up in the area. Here's a list of opening dates.

Open now

State Farmers' Market - Monday- Saturday 5 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sundays 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Cary Downtown Farmers' Market (Hours: 8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) - Live music, cooking demos, breakfast items and more.
Durham Farmers' Market (Hours: 10 a.m.-noon) - Live music, food trucks and and locally grown produce, vegetables and more. Extended summer hours start April 1.
Clayton Farm and Community Market (Hours: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.) - Extended summer hours start April 1.
Carrboro Farmers Market (Hours: 9 a.m. - noon) - Touted as one of the finest local markets in the country, the Carrboro Farmers' Market has provided an opportunity for local farmers to sell their products directly to the consumer since 1979. Starting April 1, the market will open at 7 a.m., and a Wednesday afternoon market will be added.
Eno River Farmers' Market (Hours 10 a.m.- noon) - Offers farm-fresh sustainably grown produce, cheese, meat, eggs, baked goods, prepared foods and crafts from local growers and producers. Beginning April 1, the market will be open 8 a.m. until noon every Saturday.
Fayetteville Farmer's Market (Hours: 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.) - This is Fayetteville's only 100 percent locally grown farmers market. Extended hours start in April.
Western Wake Farmers’ Market (Hours: 8 a.m.-noon) - They feature a guest educator each week (topics include cooking local, canning, gardening, solar energy, sustainability and more) and family-friendly live music. The market runs year-round but the spring opening day is April 1.
Chapel Hill Farmers' Market - Saturday hours are 8 a.m. - noon, and their Tuesday market starts in April and will run 3-6 p.m.
South Durham Farmers' Market (Hours: 9 a.m. - noon) - The market has plenty of parking, breakfast coffee and pastries, local music and a popular kids’ tent.
Wake Forest Farmers' Market (Hours: 8 a.m. - noon) - The market is stocked full of local foods and products in the heart of Wake Forest

Opening in April

Chatham Mills Farmers Market (Hours: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.) - Starting April 1, find greens and jams and cheese and meat and eggs – everything fresh and local and brilliantly delicious!
Midtown Farmers' Market at North Hills (Hours: 8 a.m. - noon) - Starts April 15
Raleigh Downtown Farmers' Market (Hours: 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.) - This market is held every Wednesday and kicks off on April 19.
Apex Farmers Market (Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.) - This market is held every Saturday and kicks off April 22.

Opening in May

Knightdale Farmers Market (Hours: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.) - Vendors will be available with local produce, artwork, clothing, jewelry and more. Kicks off May 14.
