"The art deco period — from the 1920s to 1940s — is known for blending modern decorative arts and industrial design and is today synonymous with luxury and glamour," says a description of the exhibit. "The cars from this era are no exception. While today manufacturers strive for economy and efficiency, during the art deco period elegance reigned supreme."
The exhibit opens to the public at 9 a.m., Saturday, and runs through Jan. 15.
Get there early for a classic car meetup from 8 a.m. to noon where you can check out cars and have breakfast from the Belgian Waffle Crafters food truck.
The family tours are best for ages 6 to 12. The tours are free, but you'll need a paid exhibit ticket to take part. They are first come, first served. You can meet the tour guide at the entrance to the museum.
Tickets to the exhibit are $13 for kids ages 7 to 18 and $19 for adults.
