ST. LOUIS, MO — A 27-year-old St. Louis man is fighting for his life after an apparent attack inside the city jail, according to his family.

Harold Mosley Jr. is now in an area hospital, relatives say, with severe injuries to his brain.

"Somebody's got to find out what happened," said Mosley's fiance.

She said not only are jail officials being tight lipped on what happened, but it also took three days for her to be notified about it.

Mosley has been in the city jail for almost a year accused of a robbery.

Dale Glass, the city's corrections commissioner, confirms there was an "incident" in the jail on Saturday that resulted in an inmate being hospitalized.

Glass says St. Louis police are now investigating.
