KNIGHTDALE, N.C. — A fire at a Knightdale apartment building left four of eight units damaged and 21 people without a place to stay Saturday.

No one was injured, and those left homeless were getting help from the American Red Cross. Apartment managers said they were planning to relocate some of the families to other units in the complex, at 319 Railroad St.

According to Knightdale Fire Department spokesman Tim Guffy, a child accidentally started the fire at about 10:30 a.m.
