Families On! Challenge will be in the Triangle in April.
WakeMed and the YMCA of the Triangle are teaming up to host the Families On! Challenge this spring.

The 2.2-mile race course with what are described as 14 "outrageously awesome challenges" is designed for families to work through together. The theme is "Everything You Can't Do at Home," so expect challenges like running through bubbles, scribbling on walls and jumping on a big green couch, which will start making the rounds around the Triangle soon.

The race is designed for all fitness levels. And it's self-timed so you can take part at your own pace, according to the website. It's designed for families or groups of two or more people. The Families On! Challenge website has a great FAQ page with a lot of information.

The event is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 25, at WakeMed Soccer Park. The fee is $29 per person for early registration and $39 per person on race day. Fun Packs for groups of four or more are $19 per person. Registration is open now.

After the challenge, there's a Celebration Station to mark the fun.

This looks like a lot of fun - very similar to the Big Muddy Challenge.
