Artspace, the collection of galleries in downtown Raleigh, has a newer, regular program for families called Connect & Create.

Artspace, the collection of galleries in downtown Raleigh, has a newer, regular program for families called Connect & Create.

The programs are offered every third Saturday of the month. Tickets are $15 per person ($10 for members). Art materials are provided. Together, parents and kids can make art and learn new art techniques.

Artspace would love for participants to register. Call Artspace at 919-821-2787 for details.

Here's the schedule for the next three months ...

  • 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Feb. 18: Put a Bird on it! with Anna Podris. Create a colorful and whimsical mixed media painting that incorporates our feathered friends in fun and unusual ways with artist Anna Podris.
  • 10 a.m. to noon, March 25. Musical Composition with Eric McRay. Learn about the art of Romare Bearden and create unique collages inspired by your favorite jazz musicians.
  • 10 a.m. to noon, April 15. Fabric Flowers with Kenia Brea. Learn how to create beautiful flowers made out of fabric. Artist Kenia Brea is a painter and designer of wearable art/accessories influenced by flora, fauna, and human behavior.
Artspace is at 201 E. Davie St., Raleigh.
