— Several traffic lights in Durham were not working Saturday afternoon and thousands of people were in the dark due to a power outage, authorities said.

Roughly 2,600 Duke Energy customers were without power around the intersection of University Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway. Durham police said a fallen tree in the 3900 block of Chapel Hill Road is possibly to blame for the outage.

Authorities said power was restored in Durham around 4:30 p.m.

Yeah, thanks Duke Energy for the 10/hrs of no power from 6:30am to 4:30pm. First it was going to be fixed at 8:30 then noon, then 1:00 pm, then 3:30 then finally 4:30. Could you have moved any slower for 1 smallish tree down on Old Chapel Hill Rd? Oh and it was 3163 customers not 2600.
