RALEIGH, N.C. — Fall-like temperatures will return later this week after a quick warm-up, according to WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss.

Tuesday will be the warmest day of the week with a predicted high of 84 degrees.

"We’ll have a few more clouds around Wednesday with another front coming in," Moss said. "We settle into some cooler temperatures to finish out the week on Thursday and Friday."

Thursday and Friday should be in the mid to low 70s.

Highs on Sunday were in the low 70s, about 10 degrees below normal for mid-September. Monday will be around 79 degrees.

Tuesday will still have a chance of a shower or storm, but clouds will give way to some sun and highs will reach into the upper 70s.

Nice weather will move in for the rest of the work week with mostly to partly sunny skies expected Wednesday through Friday. Highs will stay in the 70s.
